David Derus

David Derus

This presbyterian minister was about to burn out. After a series of low-level projects, he learned how to save time, sell products, and turn his role-playing passion into profits.

For David Derus, his full-time job as a minister is a labor of love – but it’s never quite enough to pay all his bills. In order to help him continue to serve his perish, he’s spend years fitting in odd jobs around his church duties. Although some of these gigs were good for a while, they never provided him with the consistent support he needed.

On the verge of burnout, David decided he wanted to start a Side Hustle where he didn’t have to trade his time for money.

Ever since he was a young boy, David was interested in role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. It was a way for a shy and awkward teenager to meet like-minded people, and he’s been playing ever since. He figured it might be a good place to start in his hunt for an business idea.

He paid a visit to his local gaming shop and got talking to a friend who was showing off his new custom dice. Lightning struck and David got the idea to create custom dice. David created some designs, had a designer friend prepare Adobe files for a manufacturer.

He created his new company, Dice Envy, and set about selling his new products online.

David followed a powerful action plan:

  • 1. Identify a product and a clear market
  • 2.Design to attract Buyers
  • 3. Research Manufacturers
  • 4. Place initial order and build your website
  • 5. Build your Funnel to attract Online Traffic
  • 6. Sell your Product

David has implemented a Subscription system so his faithful followers can obtain a newly deigned dice every month. He’s also hosting booths at gaming conventions. The money is rolling in.
