Jeremy Enns
A Canadian landscaper lands on the Side Hustle trifecta: passion, skill and opportunity. He eventually utilizes his new income to quit the 9 to 5 and travel to 10 countries.
Jeremy had been a landscaper in Vancouver, British Columbia – a job he knew he didn’t want to do forever. The search for a Side Hustle had a natural starting point: Jeremy had gone to school for audio engineering and production, and he loved podcasts.
While mowing lawns, he’d listen to up to 50 hours’ worth of podcasts. He thought about starting a new gig handling podcast editing and production. Soon he was freelancing his talent. He offered his skills for hire through Upwork.com, a network of opportunities for freelancers.
Soon, Jeremy had enough money coming in from clients that he was able to quit his job. He was bringing in over $4,000 each month. His next achievement was to publish an e-book on podcasting gear. He got serious about email marketing and brought on a couple of freelancers of his own to handle all the work.
Shortly thereafter, Jeremy was able to travel for ten of the next 19 months, visiting four continents and thirteen countries. When he returned, he launched a new podcast focusing on his favorite topic: ice cream. The show is called: Rain City Scoop. It is the go-to source for all things ice cream. 😉
