In the pursuit of a handmade income source, this TV Producer experimented with different items until she discovered what customers liked the most.

Kristen La Greca was Casting Producer in New York City, when she stumbled upon an idea for a great Side Hustle. It was a handmade scarf that donates a percentage of profits to Pencils of Promise and Donors Choose, because she’s passionate about education – especially for young girls.

Her company, Rosa Gold, blossomed out of an Etsy store she opened as a testing ground for different ideas swirling around in her head. While in college, Kirsten had spent her nights and weekends working as a merchandiser, so she knew that putting the items that weren’t selling off the shelves. O she started posting these items on Etsy and bingo! Items started to move!

Monogrammed blanket scarves were the product that struck big-time. Soon she was posting bandanas and t-shirts. Startup costs were low. She spent $250 at first, growing her inventory as sales rose.

Kirsten soon went all-in and quit her fulltime job to launch her endeavor fulltime. She has expanded her wares to several Gift Guides to facilitate even greater sales volume. Her attention to detail and customer requests has assured her success.
